DDR Australia operates in Defence, State Government, Mining and Energy sectors. The DDR Australia business has experienced substantial growth in the value, complexity, and number of projects that the business will deliver in the next 2-3 years, within Western Australia and Nationally.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to build on the current pipeline of work, with an existing experienced and highly motivated team. Sustainability and growth of the Western Australian business unit is a key focus of the management team and the board.

Duties and responsibilities  

  • Identify, pursue and deliver Contracting opportunities in the WA region
  • Lead/mentor project delivery teams to achieve success for the business and our clients
  • Potential to be responsible for the delivery of National Defence projects
  • Resource day-to-day operations for all projects and local support services
  • Liaise with centralised corporate functions
  • Work collaboratively with national team to set and achieve growth strategies
  • Prepare budgets and report/deliver to these
  • Responsible for the commercial performance of the WA Business Unit
  • Source, retain and manage a local team to deliver local operations
  • Maintain and create new and enduring relationships with local people, communities, businesses and clients 
  • Set and implement business development strategies to ensure that the business is a long term, sustainable Contracting business

With the recent acquisition of a business, which specialises in structural concrete construction, there is scope for a suitably motivated and experienced individual to increase the reach of the DDR Australia by expanding on the relationships of this business and combining it with the current DDR Australia capability.  

ABOUT YOU

 As a majority owned Aboriginal business this role will require an individual with a high level of cultural awareness and commitment to the businesses vision, mission and values.

This role will suit a motivated and progressive leader, who relishes autonomy and can build a local team culture that supports the DDR Australia visions and goals.

  • Operations or State Manager experience highly regarded
  • Strong commercial acumen, responsible for P&L of a business unit or business
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-contracts
  • Demonstrated delivery of multiple construction and/or infrastructure projects >$50M
  • Ability to manage multiple business lines and deliver operational and growth strategies
  • Ability to maintain a collaborative and inclusive workplace that encourages diversity, flexibility and development/promotion from within
  • Ability to maintain a workplace and culture that values relationships within and outside the business
